Version 4.58 includes the following changes;

  • Added ACI 318-11 to the list of supported design codes.
  • Added optional lateral beam stability checks during lifting and during transport by truck.
  • Added an optional stress check during transport by truck.
  • Extended the lifting stress checks to distinguish between initial lifting from the casting bed and lifting for transport and erection.
  • Added new dialog labelled Beam Handling to input all parameters related to optional stress and stability checks during lifting (initial and erection) and during truck transport.
  • Moved lifting locations from Beam Definition dialog to the new Beam Handling dialog.
  • Added initial lifting to schedule.
  • Added transport and erection lifting properties to reports.
  • Added transport and erection lifting stresses to reports.
  • Library text files for precast sections can now include circles.
  • A new file format has been created for the problem files to accommodate additional data used by the program. It still uses the *.con extension but cannot be read by versions of Concise Beam prior to version 4.58. Version 4.58 will read files created by Concise Beam version 3.x and all prior versions of Concise Beam 4.x. Files will now be saved in the new file format.
  • Added immediate deflection graph.
  • Concise Beam now remembers it's main window size and location.

Version 4.57e is maintenance release which includes the following changes;

  • For ACI318-05 and later, adjusted the reduction of the flexural strength reduction factor within the development length of strand. Previous versions of Concise Beam used the conservative approach described in the commentary of ACI 318. Concise Beam will now use a weighted average for the reduction of strands in development in combination with adjacent fully developed strand or rebar. This will generally result in an increased strength reduction factor at the ends where mixed reinforcing is used. The conservative approach is not required since Concise Beam already checks for slippage of strand in development.
  • Corrected reporting of strand end type in development length report.

  • New File Format - A new file format has been created for the problem files to accommodate additional data used by the program.
